Tutorial: Altered Gift Box

For the box i have used Faber castell’s white acrylic colour, and coloured the whole box in white.i have double coated the edges of the box in white,so as to hide the  cardboard.

Then i have used Do crafts papermania capsule collection, pattern paper(2 papers of 12X12 inches)cut and scored to cover the entire cardboard box.

For the inside i have used glamour pink handmade paper and covered the insides of the box.

For the sides of the box(the corners i mean!)i have covered them with pink glitter lace.(bought from the local craft store.)

The roses are handmade using pink chart paper. As I don’t have any punches and dies, so, I did it all by hand, like first drawing the stencil of the five petal flower in a hard card stock and then tracing it on the pink chart paper (like 100 times, for 100 flower cut outs..) and then going neatly around the traced outline and cutting it with my scissors.

I also made some really small rose buds with white, pink, red and yellow ribbons and also made two pink butterflies using thin metal wire and stocking cloth and added bling to them.

Then for the Leaves,i again did my drawing to make the stencil of the leaves in a hard card stock, traced it on green velvet paper and cut it with my scissors,i also embossed the leaves using my embossing stylus to make it more real-like and placed each of the leaves underneath the handmade roses.

The pearl spray is handmade by me using small pearls and sticking them on plastic thread.

I have decorated the box using  baby frills lace in white,(which is about an inch)covered all the top edges using the baby frills lace.
and the bottom edges,i have used white shine doily lace which is about 1/2 inch and then covered the whole bottom part of the box.The rim of the box is covered with baby pink ribbon(about a quarter inch in measurement.)

The frame is cut on my silhouette cameo(i use my cameo basically for intricate designs and not for mere flowers and leaves.. !!) i cut out six of the frames using card stock and layered them on top of each to make it a one thick frame.

The lock is made using two medium sized buttons(bought from the local craft store)in pink and white,i have stuck one button(pink) at the lid of the box and tied a string(The string is made with embroidery thread with pearls and beads attached to it and a pink heart bead at the end.)connecting it to the button on the box(white)making it look like a lock for the box.

For the title,”MEMORIES” i have used glitter paper and cut out the alphabets using my silhouette cameo.

To add a little bit of beauty to the box,i have used white and pink pearls ,blings and gemstones.

Well that’s it.I hope you guys like it.There might be a possibility that I have forgotten to mention something , Please do write me,in the comment section for any query.

Regards,

Konica!
